Dyspraxia
Do you always use your right hand to navigate your mouse? Change over and use your left for a while! Else, try to thread a needle with thick gloves on, or take Chinese chopsticks to eat your jollof rice.
This will give you an idea of how difficult persons with Dyspraxia find everyday activities like dressing, writing and eating. They have difficulties with movement and coordination, and often find it hard to organise their thoughts and express themselves.
Some typical symptoms of Dyspraxia include:
- ‘Clumsiness’
- Often spilling or dropping things
- Finding it hard to judge heights and distance
- Finding it difficult telling left from right while according to age this should be established
- Finding it difficult to follow directions or find his/her way in a strange place
